Historic Kilkenny City will once again play the host destination for the Club Choice Ireland Senior Gents Open 2024.
Bring your golf buddies and test your skills on three super golf courses… but don’t despair if your golf is not up to scratch, we’ve a night at the horses to look forward to.
The stylish 4-Star Hotel Kilkenny will provide luxurious accommodation and fine dining for the full duration of the event. It’s the perfect base from which to enjoy all that this vibrant tourist city has to offer.
And as for the golf… first off the tee on Monday 20th May is Mount Wolseley Golf Club; a masterful Christy O’Connor Jnr parklands design. Tuesday 21st sees us visit Gowran Park Golf Club; a unique 18 hole layout that meanders between the race track and the woodlands. The final days play on Wednesday 22nd takes us to Kilkenny Golf Club, one of the area’s most liked golf courses with a history dating back to 1896 and green’s like glass!!
Following prize giving at Kilkenny GC on the Wednesday afternoon, there will be return coach transfer to Gowran Park Racecourse for anyone that wishes to go racing where a private area in the grandstand will be reserved for the group.
Each team will consist of 4 male players who must be over 55 (on 19th May 2024) and hold an official WHS handicap.
Each day your team will be split into pairs and then play in consecutive tee times opposite another pair from a different team. Your pairings are rotated each day. The format is Fourball Betterball with 85% handicaps with a maximum playing handicap of 28.
The event is limited to 20 teams of four, so make sure to book early!
